Purple Palace Kitchen Renovation

My friends Colin and Lucia purchased a house on the west side of Providence and the existing kitchen was in a state of disrepair. They asked if I could help them with renovating the kitchen, so I teamed up with my friend Alex Bilotti. Alex and I collaborated on the design and gave them several schematic options to consider, and once they selected their favorite we provided the construction documents for bidding and building.

We ultimately worked to de-clutter the floor space by recessing the refrigerator into a nook where there was an existing pantry. We also shifted the stove and oven from the interior chimney to the exterior wall. We tried to strike a balance between a feeling of newness and a feeling of timelessness with the material choices and some of the major appliances such as the cast iron sink.
